王 镛 1948年3月出生于北京，籍贯山西太原。1979年考取中央美术学院李可染教授研究生，攻山水画和书法篆刻专业。现任中央美术学院教授、博士生导师，文化部优秀专家， 文化部全国美术专业高级职称评审委员会委员，中国书法院院长。
　　Wang Yong was born in Beijing in March 1948. His ancestral home is in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province. In 1979, he enrolled as a graduate student of Professor Li Keran at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, specializing in landscape painting, calligraphy and seal carving. He is now a professor and adviser to Ph.D. candidates at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, an Outstanding Specialist and a member of the Judging Committee for National Senior Artist Professional Titles of the Ministry of Culture and president of the Chinese Academy of Calligraphy.
